This is my Photobook. My theme was quite simple and i  am truly proud of this piece, I didn't think I was capable of taking and editing pictures like this, so I think I now have a new hobbie :). The book is basically about beauty through my eyes and the Little things that make life beautiful. I also took many shots of eyes, because I am truly fascinated by them, they are my favorite feature. I hope You all enjoyed this assignment as much as I did.

Surreal Photo

Artist Statement
This is my Surreal Piece. It has a simple and urgent concept. This piece is to show the balance between “us” as individuals versus society. In my opinion society is completely ruling all people stripping them of their individuality as we all try to conform to society’s likes and dislikes. The Bottom hand represents Society’s hold that is destroying our world. The top hand represents you as an individual holding the beautiful world you should be in. in conclusion the piece has a simple message. You choose to fall to society’s strong hold, or rise above and be you.

Surreal Photo Proposal

I want to do a take on Society and how it is is your hands and your choice to avoid falling into their hands as they continue to corrupt our world. In the middle I will have a man with wings holding up the earth healthy and beautiful. A Little to the bottom left I will take a picture of my hands with the word Society on the wrist holding a destroyed Earth. I will scan in the words You choose. The background maybe covered with words or stars i am still debating
George Grie is a neo-surreal artist that draws his inspiration frome the great artists before hi; such as Salvaor Dali, Rene Magritte, and Jerry  Uelsmann. George was one of the first digital Neo-surrealist artists.he was born in 1962 in Soviet Russia.  He graudated from a unique school of Fine and Applied arts as well as in 1985 Graduated with Honors at his state college. He then procceeded to experiment wihmordern surrealsim and photo realism techniques. In 1995 Grie moved to Toronto, where he studied digital art and multimedia design and changed his artistic carrier from traditional to computer digital art.

Description: The photo uses very unique and different layers to create the surreal look and feel of the piece. The lines are sharp and precise. The value is very similar it is a sepia type of coloring with a splash of bright white in the back. This piece speaks volumes of attention to detail. Every subject and object is very visible and clear to the eye I enjoy and applaud the dream like essence of this piece.
Analysis: Majority of the photo has a dark balance. This is fixed area where the white balance is boosted and shines bright drawing attention to that part of the piece. The focal point is the ship riding of into the light. There is a plethora of layers like the street lamps, couches, water, and doors. I think the special effects were used to change color and compositions of the piece to work better

Interpretation: I feel this piece is symbolic of the human mind. How we think and organize, how we dream and feel and how need to gravitate towards the light, or good.
Judgment: I personally enjoy this piece thoroughly. The dream-like state puts me into a peaceful trance. I love how all the layers coincide perfectly with one another, really speaking to the audience. The color choice was bold and different. I would enjoy learning more about this piece and the artist. It is quite a stunning piece that George Grie works his neo-surrealism magic on.

Neil Simone is a Yorkshire based Artist that is completely self taught. He specializes in conceptional paintings. He uses various complex techniques to create paintings with distinct styles and concepts. He has been featured on television and been showcased in various journalistic reviews.

Artist’s Name: Neil Simone
Title of Artwork: Retreat
Date of Work: 2009
Description: The object is clear and simple. It is a picture of a tree that also serves as a house like place. I like the simplicity and the color value is realistic yet whimsical. The lines in the tree curve naturally creating a more realistic picture.(Objects, Lines, Shapes, Textures, Values)
Analysis: The design and composition is simple and clear. The colors and hues balance well with one another. The focal point is the tree. It lighting goes from light in the sky, to darker in the grass and roots of the tree.
Interpretation: In this piece I feel that he is trying to say that nature is where he feels most at home. Home is where nature grows and flourishes in a quirky and unique way.
Judgment: I enjoy the simplicity of this piece and the realistic spin; it was a different approach to surrealism the colors blend seamlessly. It’s a beautiful piece.

Comparasion: Each artist is special in the own talents and each has a different vision and approach to surrealism. Grie uses a photography base versus Simone who is more of a painter. Grie has more whimsical and layered photos and Simone is a straight froward type of artist. Both use color in different ways. Both Surreal artists create a world like no other and draw your attention with their unique and creative worlds

Artist Statement

A day in the life of a Dancer. I made this piece to show my true art form. I am not an artist in a visual sense but  I am in a performing sense. I wanted to capture what I do on a daily basis. To me this is my life and dance is one thing that I can relate to no matter what. The pictures show dancers typically do on a day to day basis. We stretch, play music, and most importantly dance. This is my way of expressing my art through another form of art. From dance to photography.

Portrait Series

Photo Walk 1 (my pictures)

I didn't have a camera the day of the photo walk but this picture is one of my favorites. I love the lighting and how in a unique way i represented my favorite color. for me its also a sign of improvement as i have been applying my photography knowledge more and more so i get cooler and better pictures ♥
